How do you keep going when nothing is working?
Short answer: Keep going by shrinking your focus from results to the reps and inputs you control. Views are lagging and lumpy, so judge yourself on posting consistently and improving one thing per video, not on the numbers. Study what your best posts share, cut what's not working, and give changes weeks to show up.
Change what you measure
When nothing's working, the problem is usually that you're staring at the one number you don't control — views — and treating each flat post as proof you should quit. Flip it. Measure the inputs instead: did you post, did you make one thing better than last time, did you finish the video at all. Those you fully control, and stacking them is what eventually moves the results. Almost every creator who made it has a stretch of months where nothing landed and they kept posting anyway.
Don't just grind harder — diagnose
Persistence without adjustment is a trap. 'Keep going' doesn't mean repeat the same thing that isn't working. Pull up your analytics and find your least-bad videos. What do they share — the hook, the topic, the length, the pacing? Do more of that. Look at where viewers drop off; if they're leaving in the first three seconds, your hook is the problem, not your whole account.
- Improve one specific thing each post — hook, first line, edit pace, or ending.
- Give changes time. A new approach needs a few weeks of posts before you can judge it.
- Cut what consistently flops instead of defending it.
- Talk to your comments — even small engagement is a thread to pull on.
Get feedback faster
Part of what makes a dry spell brutal is the long, silent gap between posting and finding out it didn't work. ReelTok scores your video 0-100 and estimates reach before you post, so you get a read on your changes immediately instead of waiting days to learn a video was going to underperform. Small, informed adjustments compound. Keep going, but keep adjusting.
